The Play Park

We have expanded our support of local families by building a ‘play park’ specifically designed for young children below the age of three with an emphasis on natural materials and simple experiences.

This park is a collaborative effort between Sophia’s Hearth, the City of Keene, the Keene School District, and the Monadnock Waldorf School’s fifth grade; funders include private and corporate donors and community foundations. It is located across the street from our current facility.

The play park for young children will begin to address the need in our community for a welcoming, safe gathering place for parents with infants and small children and will inspire others about the special needs of the very young child for movement experience and for natural beauty.
