Infant & Toddler Teachers

​​At Sophia’s Hearth, we create a warm, homelike environment where the focus is on attentive personal caregiving with every child. Our curriculum is based on self-initiated movement, development and play in thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces. Much of each day, is spent outdoors in our yards and woods. Children embrace the natural world in every season.

About our Program

The right teacher for our program has a sincere desire to deepen their own teaching practice and find meaning in their work. We offer healthy all-natural food for breaks and lunches for all children, which teachers are welcome to share. Our goal is to create an environment steeped in nature, the arts and imitation as the basis for learning.

Details

Full time and part time, 48-week positions are available in the infant and toddler classrooms. Substitute teachers are always needed. We require a minimum of three credits in Early Childhood or Elementary Education but candidates with lead teacher qualifications will be given priority.

Free Professional Development

Sophia’s Hearth offers a full Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Certificate Program. All teachers are required to complete the Birth-to-Three Certificate. Enrollment in the program is provided as a benefit of employment. Teachers are also eligible to take any workshops or summer courses offered by our Teacher Education Program free of charge.
